Leading case management software provider, Eclipse Legal Systems, has announced the release of an identity verification tool within its Proclaim software solution.
Eclipse has worked in conjunction with asb aspire LLP to implement the Experian authentication system. asb aspire LLP is a practice launched by rising Top 100 law firm, asb Law, running in parallel to focus on volume, process-driven legal work: specifically residential conveyancing and remortgaging; personal injury and uninsured loss recovery.
To verify client identity, a fee earner simply clicks a button within the Proclaim case management system. This triggers a routine whereby the relevant client data (name, date of birth, addresses, etc) contained within the case is electronically transferred to the Experian verification centre. The centre contains a huge range of identification data from numerous different sources. At this point, Experian’s system analyses the data sent against its ID database, and returns a simple risk category assessment to the fee earner’s desktop, for automatic importation directly into the relevant Proclaim case(s).
Sally Dunscombe, asb aspire LLP’s Managing Director, comments:
“By having instant desktop access to key verification data, our fee earners can be confident that they are complying with both legislative guidelines and asb ‘best practise’. The link from Proclaim to the data is seamless, and having access to Experian’s breadth of information and the resultant quantitative risk status is invaluable.
“This is a further step forward for us in our use of Proclaim – in the short time that we have had the system, we have been consistently impressed by both its functionality and the ease of ongoing development.”
