Eclipse works with Colemans-ctts in major IT systems upgrade

Colemans-ctts, one of the country’s leading practices, has announced a major firm-wide upgrade of its IT system.

The practice has been a client of Eclipse Legal Systems’ Proclaim Case Management software for 6 years, and now has over 200 Proclaim users across its 3 offices. A long-term Eclipse site, Colemans-ctts was also one of the largest users of Eclipse’s previous generation of software, entitled ‘Chase’.

The major upgrade involves the unification of IT communications between the 3 Colemans-ctts offices to completely centralise the case management system, and the practice is working with Eclipse, Ramesys and InTechnology to bring together its operations. To achieve this, the practice is implementing Citrix technology in its Manchester, Kingston and Walsall offices, and upgrading its current WAN system to a 10Mb Fibre communications backbone with resilient backup circuits for continuity. In addition, the practice is implementing a new centralised server structure which will also see the formation of a dedicated Disaster Recovery site to ensure complete business continuity.

National IT Manager, Tony Maxwell, comments on the IT upgrade:

“We aim to continue our rapid growth, further developing our core specialist practice areas and bringing together our operations into a more streamlined unit. By completely centralising our Proclaim case management system, we will be better able to offer the full Colemans-ctts service portfolio across all our branches, operating as one entity despite our disparate geographical locations. Achieving ‘Top 100’ status nationally is a key goal, and in particular we aim to become one of the top five national claimant personal injury firms. With Proclaim at the heart of our business, I am confident that we can achieve these targets and continue the impressive growth that we have experienced.”

With offices in Manchester, Kingston-Upon-Thames and Walsall, Colemans-ctts specialises in legal expenses insurance – having one of the largest units in the country – including personal injury and household legal protection, but is also strongly active in commercial litigation, residential conveyancing, and debt recovery.

The firm is currently ranked amongst the Top 150 UK practices, with a clientbase including major insurers such as RAC Motoring Services, UK Underwriting Limited, and a number of other house-hold names. In 2005, following a period of sustained growth, the firm relocated its Manchester HQ to prestigious ?3.5million purpose-built premises.

Eclipse’s Marketing Manager, Darren Gower, comments on Colemans-ctts utilisation of Proclaim:

“Colemans-ctts uses Proclaim extensively to integrate with its case referrers and to produce accurate and up-to-the-minute Management Information. Being able to keep on top of trends and monitoring key performance indicators – from overseeing macro-data such as firm-wide fee income and case sources, through to overseeing the performance of individual fee earners – helps the practice to maintain the high levels of service its clients depend upon.”
