Bradford Law Society has elected Idris Mir, founding partner of the city’s Mir Solicitors, as its new president. Idris has been practising for more than 15 years and was formally handed the presidency at the society’s recent annual dinner at the city’s Midland Hotel.
Mir Solicitors is a long-time user of Eclipse’s integrated Proclaim Case and Practice Management Software. The firm provides a broad range of legal services for private and commercial clients, including accident claims, residential and commercial property transactions, civil litigation, and debt recovery.
Yorkshire born Idris was honoured in the presence of distinguished guests at the annual dinner, including the Lord Mayor of Bradford, President of the Yorkshire Union of Law Societies, President of the Bradford Society of Chartered Accountants and President of the Insurance Institute of Bradford.
Idris is the 131st president of the Bradford Law Society, a prestigious tradition spanning 134 years. He comments:
“This is still a challenging commercial climate for anyone in the profession. In addition, there have been unprecedented changes in the legal system recently, and there are many more changes proposed, which will leave an indelible mark on the legal landscape.
“I will make every effort to ensure that solicitors in Bradford and the wider legal arena are able to operate and thrive. By embracing new working practices and ensuring that technology is core to their operations, law firms can generate that all-important competitive advantage to ensure longevity and a healthy marketplace.”
