Proclaim’s Web Services compatibility brings you an unrivalled range of integration and communication options.

Web Services is essentially a system of software interfaces that allow applications to communicate with each other in a platform- and programming language-independent manner, using protocols based on xml (Extensible Markup Language) – a principal language for software communications.

Integrating groups of software systems can now be a more straightforward and painless task, giving way to large-scale linked systems that run smoothly and without traditional incompatibility ‘surprises’!

Proclaim Web Services provides a true software integration toolkit for law firm and third-party developers. This takes our ‘Open System Unions’ ethos to the next logical step, and enables firms to link in with Proclaim using a variety of methodologies – dotnet, java, xml, php, etc. In complex and fast-changing legal environments, this allows you and your business partners to enjoy the benefits of single business systems infrastructures – facilitating a truly sustainable competitive advantage.

Essentially, we provide a toolbox of functions that give developers secure access to the Proclaim business logic. These functions (or ‘Services’) allow developers to design interfaces in suitable languages, without the pre-requisite of Progress (Proclaim’s underlying database) knowledge. So, for example, a developer could tailor a bespoke .net interface for Proclaim to fully interact with the system, with no risk of corrupting the actual data contained within.

The Web Services toolkit is available free of charge to all Proclaim users.

In addition, Proclaim can also hold an audit trail specifically for the monitoring of Web Services, allowing system administrators to analyse security access and performance.
